Privacy Policy
Last updated October 14, 2026
This policy explains what information Litbytes ("we," "us") collects when you use litbytes.app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.
Information we collect
If you go through our short onboarding questions: your email address, your answers (what brought you here, a mood, topics you're interested in, and how you like to take in ideas — text, video, or audio), and a few details about how you found us (a referral code, UTM campaign parameters, and your browser's user agent string) so we can see which channels are working. Your mood and topic answers are used right away to pick your first feed; the rest helps us decide what to build next.
If you create an account: your email address (or, if you sign in with Google, the name and email Google shares with us), plus anything the product itself generates from how you use it: the ideas you save, like, or hide, and — if you set one — a display name and topic interests on your profile.
Usage analytics: we use Vercel Web Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics tool that doesn't track you across sites or build an advertising profile. We may also record basic interaction events (e.g. that an idea was viewed or liked) to make the feed's ranking better — these aren't sold or shared with advertisers.
How we use it
- To send you a one-time email — when the mobile app launches, if you're not already using the web feed by then.
- To create and sign you into your account, and remember your saves and preferences.
- To rank your feed based on your interests and interactions, including your onboarding mood/topic answers before you've saved or liked anything.
- To keep the product secure and prevent abuse (e.g. rate-limiting signups).
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for ads.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run Litbytes, each only for its job:
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles sign-in.
- Vercel — hosts the app, serves waitlist signups, and provides the analytics described above.
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google, to verify your identity.
- Bunny.net — hosts and streams the video clips shown in the feed, for ideas that have one. Loading a video sends your device's IP address and standard request details to Bunny's CDN, the same as any video-hosting provider.
We don't share your data with anyone else, except where required by law.
Your choices
If you have an account, you can permanently delete it — and everything tied to it (saves, likes, hidden ideas, profile) — at any time from /profile/delete. This can't be undone. Waitlist signups aren't tied to an account; email us (below) to be removed.
Children's privacy
Litbytes isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
